ABOUT

Founded against the backdrop of Nigeria’s independence, Seven-Up Bottling Company began its journey in 1959, and the first bottle of 7Up rolled off the production line on October 1, 1960, a notable alignment with the nation’s new era. The vision was brought to life by the El-Khalil family, who transitioned from their transport business into soft drink manufacturing, inspired to challenge the dominance of competitors and meet the rising appetite for refreshment in the newly independent nation.
Seven-Up Bottling Company got listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1984 and delisted in 2018 following a buyout by the El-Khalil family’s Affleka Holdings.
Through the 1970s and 1980s, the company expanded its reach by constructing bottling plants in Oregun, Ibadan, Aba, and later in Kano, Kaduna, Enugu, Benin, and Ilorin, laying the foundation for a truly national presence. Today, the company operates nine state-of-the-art plants strategically located across the country.
SBC’s product portfolio is rich and diverse, featuring household names such as Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda, Teem, Mountain Dew, H2Oh!, Lipton Ice Tea, Supa Komando Energy Drink, and Aquafina premium water . In recent years, the company has expanded further with isotonic beverages like Hydr8 100 and flavored drinks such as D’Vybe, reinforcing its culture of innovation.
SBC is no stranger to diversification. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it swiftly introduced its Life Care division featuring the 2Sure line—initially launched as hand sanitizers and disinfectants, later extending to antibacterial soaps, dishwashing liquid, multipurpose soap, and liquid cleaners.
