ABOUT

Nigerian Ropes Plc began as an affiliate of Bridon Plc, then part of British Ropes, and swiftly carved out its place in Africa’s industrial cordage sector. Until its delisting, the company was the continent’s only quoted rope manufacturer outside South Africa and served critical industries including oil & gas, maritime, construction, mining, and fishing.

Guided by a clear vision—to remain Africa’s ropes industry leader while building a global brand—its mission emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, and international standards. The company’s local content policy actively sources materials and labour domestically, reinforcing Nigeria’s industrial drive.

Since its inception, the company has been providing a wide range of products and services to the oil & gas, mining, fishing, construction, and shipping industries. Nigerian Ropes Plc has been owned by the Shoreline Group since 2008, and the company delisted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2016.

Despite challenges in power supply and raw material sourcing, the company is focused on modernizing its production and scaling capacity—particularly through energy stabilisation and vertical integration.
