A. G. Leventis (Nigeria) is one of Nigeria’s most enduring conglomerates, with a heritage that stretches back more than 80 years. Founded by the visionary Cypriot entrepreneur Chief Anastasios George Leventis, the company began as a modest trading business in the 1930s before evolving into a diversified group with interests across key sectors of the Nigerian economy. A. G. Leventis stands as a household name, synonymous with quality, resilience, and service.
Over the decades, A. G. Leventis established itself in areas such as motor vehicle sales and servicing, food and hospitality, retail, logistics, and real estate. Its automobile division, in particular, became one of the most recognized in the country, distributing global brands and providing after-sales support to generations of Nigerians.
A. G. Leventis also played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s consumer landscape through ventures in bakery and food processing. The Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd was incorporated in 1951as a subsidiary of a.G. leventis with the franchise to bottle and sell products of the Coca-Cola Company in the country.
The group has been associated with pioneering investments that shaped modern Nigerian retailing and manufacturing, giving it a reputation as a builder of industries and livelihoods. With the establishment of Leventis Motors Limited in 1958, the company entered the sales and services of motor vehicles.
In 1965, the first Leventis store was opened in Lagos to provide a wide range of consumer goods and products and it eventually had branches all over the six geo-political regions of the country.
