Formerly Mobile Oil Nigeria, 11 Plc is one of Nigeria’s foremost downstream oil and gas companies, with a history in Nigeria dating back to 1907 when Socony Vacuum Oil Company began marketing operations in Nigeria, selling Sunflower Kerosene.
In 1951, it changed its name to Mobile Oil Nigeria Limited, becoming a limited liability company, and it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1978. The company operated as a subsidiary of ExxonMobil until the Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) acquired a 60% shareholding of Mobil Oil Nigeria in 2016. Afterwards, it changed its name to 11 Plc.
The company operates an extensive network of service stations strategically located across Nigeria. In addition to fuel and lubricants, the company has diversified into non-fuel retail offerings, leveraging its service stations as hubs for convenience stores, quick-service restaurants, and allied services.
11 PLC is the sole authorised distributor of Mobil fuel and lubricant brands in Nigeria.
One of 11 Plc’s distinguishing assets is its modern blending plant located in Apapa, Lagos. This facility produces a wide range of lubricants under strict quality controls, meeting both domestic demand and export opportunities. The company also operates aviation fuel depots at key airports across Nigeria, supplying airlines with Jet A-1 fuel under international safety and quality standards.
