Beta Glass Plc is one of Nigeria’s foremost manufacturers of glass packaging solutions, serving as a critical player in the country’s industrial ecosystem. Incorporated in 1974 as Delta Glass Company LLC., Guinea Glass and Nigeria Crowns commenced operations in 1975, and Delta Glass in 1979.
Delta Glass became a public company in 1986, and Beta Industries Nigeria Limited was established as a legal entity in 1995, and Frigoglass Group in 1996. By 2000, Beta Glass was formed through a merger of Delta and Guinea Glass.
Beta Glass is currently a subsidiary of Frigoglas Industries Nigeria Limited, which holds 61.9% of the company’s ordinary shares. The ultimate controlling party is Frigo DebtCo Plc, a United Kingdom-incorporated company.
Beta Glass has built a reputation as a trusted partner for major beverage, pharmaceutical, and food companies, positioning itself as the number one glass manufacturer in West Africa and Central Africa, producing and selling high-quality glass containers, including bottles and jars, catering to clients in sectors such as soft drinks, beer, spirits, wine, pharmaceuticals, and food. The company has two glass container manufacturing plants with three furnaces producing flint, green, and amber glass.
Its manufacturing plants have a combined production capacity of over 720 tonnes of glass per day and 650 million bottles and jars every year, serving both local and foreign clients. The company exports a significant portion of its products to neighboring countries, thereby earning foreign exchange for Nigeria and contributing to regional trade integration.
Beta Glass exports its products to six countries in West Africa and six other countries in Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa.
